Awaiting Order Confirmation
This is a status in the RFQ (Request for Quotation) feature which is displayed after the forwarder has assigned an order to a carrier. The carrier has yet to respond to the request for either confirming or declining the order.
Block Pallet
Block pallet is a type of pallet with 9 blocks of solid wood placed in all four corners of the pallet. Typically, the dimensions of a block pallet are 100 x 120cm.
Bulk cargo
Bulk cargo is unpacked dry cargo. Examples include grain, coal, and iron. However, bulk cargo can also contain liquid bulk. For this reason, specialised trucks and containers are used.
Bulk Shipping
Bulk shipping is the transportation of goods in large quantity, usually not packed but loaded directly into a vessel.
Charter
A shipment that does not fit the cooperation requirements because it is too much, too heavy or too special is considered Charter.
Coil
It is a term for a wound metal band. These are manufactured in rolling mills and can weigh up to 40 tons . Due to their heavy weight, coils are mostly transported by rail or inland waterway.
Drop off point
Drop off point refers to the agreed location to which a shipment is expected to arrive. When the shipment reaches its delivery point, then the carrier or transport company has fulfilled his delivery obligation.
Fleet
Fleet vehicles comprise of all the transport vehicles owned by a company, government agency or other business.
Freight
Any type of goods, items or commodities that are transported in bulk via air transport, surface transport or sea/ocean transport.
Invoice
An Invoice is a document listing the products or services sold, mode of transport used to deliver (if the case) and the payment terms.
IBC
IBC stands for Intermediate Bulk Container. This type of container is used as a hybrid form between drums and bulk transport (truck transport, maritime container, or boat transport).
Less-Than-Truckload
LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) describes the partial load of a truck. Usually, additional partial loads are sought for a partially loaded truck so that the transport is profitable.
Loading Equipment
Loading equipment includes devices used in safeguarding the shipments to be transported. Companies in the fields of logistics, production and services move various types of freight every day. To ensure that the load is adequately secured, small items such as cartons are grouped together on a pallet in combination with packaging materials.
Loading meter
A loading meter is a standard unit of measurement used to calculate the size of goods that cannot be stacked within a truck. One loading meter equals 1 meter of the total space of the length of a truck.
Order Awarded
The status in RFQ feature of TrustedTrucks is displayed after the forwarder has assigned an order to a carrier, and then the carrier proceeds to confirm the order.
Order Accepted – Tour Confirmed
This status in RFQ feature of TrustedTrucks is displayed after the carrier has confirmed the order.
Package
A package is the quantity of goods to be shipped. The goods are not transported individually but are bundled together on a pallet to form a unit. This can be crates, pallets, wire mesh pallets, roller containers and other loading equipment.
Pallet
A pallet is a flat, (usually wooden) structure that is used for handling transport, storing goods or transporting freight.
Partial Truckload
Partial truckload is a freight mode for large shipments that may not require the use of a full truckload trailer. Partial truckload falls between LTL and full truckload, typically involving shipments over 5,000 pounds or 6 or more pallets.
Pick up point
Pick up point refers to the initial destination to which a shipment is expected to be picked up. It can also be described as the location at which a carrier receives shipments from a shipper to be transported to an agreed place.
Postal code
A postal code, also called postcode, is a short code with the combination of numbers and letters. In some countries, the code only contains short numbers. In Germany, it is the 5-digit code written as part of a full residence address.
Proof of Delivery
Proof of a delivery (PoD) is a document signed by the recipient to confirm the delivery of goods in a good condition.
Qualification
The compliance process, much like a supplier screening or background check, that logistics providers undergo in order to begin a working relationship.
Qualified
This is a status in TrustedTrucks. This status means that the qualified logistics service provider is available to compliant and available for immediate collaboration with the company that has qualified them on TrustedTrucks.
Quotation
A quotation is an offer document that usually shows the rates of a shipment and the incurable surcharges during transportation. In general, the document contains: the information regarding the point of pickup and delivery; the mode of transportation used; the details of cargo.
Quotation accepted – Carrier declines Order
This status in RFQ feature of TrustedTrucks is displayed after the forwarder has assigned an order to a carrier, and then the carrier proceeds to decline the order.
Quotation request
A quotation request (RFQ) is a market enquiry prepared by the buyer and issued to prospective suppliers, typically for lower value or simple acquisitions. The purpose is to invite commercial offers from a number of suppliers in order to secure competition, and to gather information about the supplier’s solutions, their lead time, service support and other dimensions of their value proposition.
Quotation Request Expired – Archived after 7 days
This status in the RFQ feature on TrustedTrucks is displayed after the deadline for answering has expired.
Quotation Request Received
This status in the RFQ feature on TrustedTrucks is displayed after the forwarder has sent the quotation request to the carrier and. The Carrier has not submitted any quotation yet.
Quotation Submitted – Awaiting forwarder response
This status in the RFQ feature on TrustedTrucks is displayed after the carrier has submitted their quotation.
Quotation Accepted and Tour Awarded
This status in the RFQ feature on TrustedTrucks is displayed after the forwarder have accepted and awarded the order to the carrier.
Quotation Declined
This status in the RFQ feature on TrustedTrucks is displayed after the forwarder has declined the quotation of the carrier.
Quotation Request Expired
This status in the RFQ feature on TrustedTrucks is displayed after the deadline for answering has expired. The carrier should not be able to enter the Quotation Details page.
Quote Accepted – Order Declined
This status in the RFQ feature on TrustedTrucks is displayed after the carrier has declined an assigned order to them.
Quotation Request Created – Not Sent
This status in the RFQ feature on TrustedTrucks is displayed after the forwarder has created the Quotation Request, but hasn’t sent it to any carrier yet.
Quotation Request(s) sent – Awaiting Quotations
This status in the RFQ feature on TrustedTrucks is displayed after the user has sent a Quotation Request to a few carriers. This status is only displayed until the first carrier has submitted their quotation.
Quotations received – Awaiting decision
This status in the RFQ feature on TrustedTrucks is displayed directly after the first carrier has submitted their quotation.
Requalification
This is the process of having a profile on TrustedTrucks undergo the qualification procedure again. This usually happens when a user has updated their documentation because of new information or because their existing documentation has expired and been replaced
Road Freight
Road Freight is the physical process of transporting cargo by road using motor vehicles. In this case, road is a lane/route between the point of departure and the point of destination.
Tour PDF
A document that is provided to the carrier by a forwarder once an order has been confirmed. The document contains all information about the order from freight details to pick up and drop off locations.
