New Carrier Qualification Platform advances digitisation in logistics with blockchain technology
TrustedTrucks is a blockchain-based carrier qualification platform that enables transport companies and carriers to implement the qualification process in a legally compliant and digital way. The platform is the first market-ready product of a joint venture of logistics specialists and blockchain experts.
Berlin/Göttingen, 09-17-2020 – TrustedTrucks is a transparent and user-friendly Carrier Qualification Platform (transport company database), which enables transport companies and carriers to implement the qualification process in a legally compliant and digital way. With this new platform, transport companies can manage their profile data independently and make it accessible to carriers. All participating carriers then access the same database, but can filter and find carriers according to their needs and transport requirements. In the subsequent qualification process, the carriers can release the appropriate transport companies, according to the available licenses and permits, for the period of validity of the licenses. TrustedTrucks is the first blockchain-based platform that gives participants full control over their data and can be used for daily operations in the transport industry.
What is changing for transport companies and carriers?
TrustedTrucks is based on modern blockchain technology, offering the logistician several major advantages: First, the company can control and manage its data independently. Second, crowd verification significantly reduces the administrative workload for both transport companies and carriers. Third, companies gain access to new business contacts. Furthermore, TrustedTrucks offers the functionality of contactless proof of delivery via mobile scanning or photo documentation.
“With the Zukonft blockchain platform, we can create fast and consistent added value with sustainable solutions for all players in a fragmented transport and logistics industry, while offering small and medium-sized players equal competitive opportunities. We see the blockchain technology as the key to a sustainable and efficient supply chain,” said Peter Müller-Kronberg, managing partner of ZUFALL logistics group. Blockchain technology is based on a decentralised database that can manage data in real time with great transparency and security. This technology also offers enormous potential for automation. Further applications are already being planned.
“Our platform serves the need for sustainability and fairness, which especially – but not only – medium-sized and independent companies have. It’s important to us that they are also able to expand their business and compete with the larger companies on an equal footing, securely and profitably. Our joint venture Zukonft and the TrustTrucks product represent the implementation of this value system,” said Mervyn Maistry, CEO of Konfid.io Blockchain Ventures.
Who is behind TrustedTrucks?
TrustedTrucks is the first market-ready product from a collaboration that started at zufall.lab at the end of 2019. zufall.lab is the research and development laboratory of ZUFALL logistics group. The specialists at the Göttingen logistics company and the blockchain experts at Berlin-based Konfid.io, who are currently combining their skills in the joint venture Zukonft, are involved in the project. The goal of the collaboration between ZUFALL logistics group and Konfidio is to create a sustainable, fair and digital platform for logistics companies who want to expand their business in a future-proof manner without the influence of the bigger players in the supply chain industry. Using decentralised technologies, Zukonft offers logistics companies access to digital platforms on which they can interact as peers while retaining full control over their business data and relationships.
